Brief Comments
The book explains what habits are and gives concrete examples of how they can be put into practice immediately. On the other hand, there are also references to the reasons and causes of not making a habit, and what kind of countermeasures can be learned from them.

In my case, I have been working from my home and office for many years now, and I think I am a person who does a lot of things as routine work.

I work on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, or more specifically, I work in the morning or at night, and I sometimes have dinner with my wife, who works at a public company, and sometimes go out with her on her days off. Then, I think I have received a very gratifying job where I do not have to choose a space, let alone a day and time.
However, I know that if I do not dare to impose on myself a sense of the day of the week or a concept of time, somewhere a distortion will occur.

When I was in junior high school, I was the target of bullying at my new school and was unable to go to school for a while. Due to stress, I could not get out of bed in the morning. My parents, who were very busy at that time, went out and I naturally shifted to a night life when I was alone and confined inside the house.
Around noon, I would finish my meal in the living room, spend the rest of the day watching TV or playing video games, and then go straight to bed at dawn when night fell. What a self-indulgent lifestyle I was leading! Looking back, I curse myself for thinking that if I had only studied hard during those hours, I would not have finished as well as I did.

I digress. My escape from such a self-defeating life was a timetable for myself.
As mentioned in this book, the first step is to decide when to go to bed as well as when to sleep. Then, you schedule everything backwards, such as brushing your teeth, taking a bath, etc., one before that.

What this book has confirmed for me once again is that the schedule is not “what to do next,” but rather “this is what I have planned, so let’s do this in advance. Even if a schedule comes in unexpectedly, there should be a monthly schedule and an annual schedule as a big flow, so it seems that everything can be executed relatively smoothly by “doing it one step ahead of time.

At the age of 50, I was able to read a book that reminded me once again of my own commitment.
