Brief Comment: Before I finished reading this book, I knew that it was the second stage of a series.
I learned from the description before I finished reading that this book is the second in a series. I like mystery novels, but the depiction of human nature is so realistic that it gave me heartburn in a good way. I found myself thinking back on my past actions, wondering how people feel deep down inside.
I would not say irresponsible things like, “If you are in pain, it is okay to run away.” There are people who have nowhere to run. It left a lasting impression on my heart.
I have a delicate relationship with my parents, and this book made me see it as a bit of a distant world.
