January 15 was the Dondoyaki festival in our district. Everyone in the neighborhood gathers to exchange New Year’s greetings. The area is deep in the mountains of Shinshu, so the depopulation has not been slowed down, but the cheerful voices of elementary school students and children under school age still echo in the area, so it is a traditional New Year’s scene.
Later, when the fire had died down a bit, parents and children with elementary school children were enjoying roasting rice cakes that they had stuck into bamboo poles. I sincerely hope that everyone will be in good health and have a good time this year as well.
