I have been working in the field of web production for more than 20 years.
Back then, the method of creating a website was a leisurely process of writing tags one by one in an HTML file and reloading the browser on the other side of the screen. Internet connection speeds were also slow compared to today, and GIFs were used as much as possible for images.
Now, in 2023, most of our clients request us to build their sites with WordPress, which is a CMS, so if you have a little knowledge of WordPress, you can build a certain level of site in a few hours. However, the requests never cease.
Even if you are a car enthusiast and have tools and a garage, you may not want to collect every single part and build it from scratch! Many of them want to drive a car and like to build it from scratch. Most of them want to drive a car or go out for a long distance in a car they like.
It is the same with CMS. The base structure, server preparation, SQL database installation, WordPress deployment and basic settings, deployment of a tentative theme, and so on, may be the same stage as buying a car. After that, you can add articles and pages, change photos, etc. If it were a car, you could change the wheels to your favorite wheels, change aero parts, and so on.
I am sorry, but this is a very difficult analogy to understand.
In this world of efficiency, not only WordPress, but also CMS construction is a trade-off between time and cost.
In that sense, when I build a private website, especially a blog site like this, I try to borrow an excellent theme made by a template-making expert.
Blogs, by their very nature, are not to be admired for their “wow, that’s a nice design,” but rather for their content, such as the research being done and the pictures being posted, so as long as they are not shabby, there should be no problem. Of course, there is no doubt that a well-designed product, service, or company website should have a clear purpose and reason for its creation, and as someone who does this work for a living, I think it should.
This blog is lucky to have this great theme.
