A word of advice: I am ashamed to say that I did not know that there had been a film adaptation.
I am ashamed to admit that I did not know that there had been a film adaptation.
Furthermore, I read the book with a blank slate, not knowing that it was a gender story.

In fact, I feel that by doing so, I was able to follow along with the growth of the main character without any preconceived notions.

In the course of our respective lives, there are times when we cross paths, and there are also chance and fateful encounters.
In an important encounter, caring for the other person can have the exact opposite result.

Reading the afterword, I was moved to tears for the umpteenth time, and something deep in my heart resonated in this book.
